A.M. Best affirms our ‘A’ (Excellent) financial strength rating, the third highest of their 15 ratings, for the 17th year in a row. A.M. Best also affirmed our issuer credit rating of ‘a+’ for the second year in a row.
This rating includes The General and Homesite. Main Street America is expected to be added to the enterprise group rating in 2019. The company will evaluate options to add Ameriprise Auto and Home to our enterprise group rating in the future, pending closure of the transaction.
The ‘A’ rating reflects A.M. Best’s opinion of an insurer’s ability to meet its ongoing insurance policy and contract obligations.
